Indigenous People Historic Marker

Historic marker unveiling!! at Leonardtown, MD wharf. So proud of my town for being on board with the installation of a marker recognizing thousands of years of indigenous peoples history here. I spent over 2 years meeting with different people -some pictured here-working with sign designer Dennis Kund to make this a reality. Happy to donate use of my art and design to this marker. So much help from (left to right) Bob Gajdys, Vice Chair Maryland Commission on Indian Affairs & guiding elder, Julia A. King, archaeologist ,anthropologist &inspiration!, Rico Newman, former Piscataway rep on Maryland Commission Indian Affairs, Ed Chaney, archaeologist & former Director Maryland Archaeological Conservation Laboratory-keeping it accurate! and me…….. I am so incredibly grateful to all these people for their help and guidance. Thank you!
